Summary: In a future world where genetic engineering plays a huge role, Vincent Freeman is a "natural" baby (termed an "In-Valid"). Vincent wants to overcome these circumstances and work for Gattaca Corp. as a navigator. Vincent gets help from Jerome Morrow who is paralyzed and wants to sell his superior genetic attributes to Vincent. Vincent is selected by Gattaca to participate in his dream, a mission to Titan, but the project's director is murdered and everyone involved becomes a suspect.

Synopsis: In a future world where genetic engineering plays a huge role and people are born to certain pre-selected specifications, Vincent Freeman (Ethan Hawke) is among the last of our kind, a "natural" baby (termed an "In-Valid."Among his deficiencies are shortsightedness and "emotional problems"). Vincent wants to overcome these circumstances and work for Gattaca Corp. as a navigator and journey into space. Knowing that the possibility of him living a good life is very low, Vincent goes underground and gets help from Jerome Morrow (Jude Law) who is paralyzed and wants to sell his superior genetic attributes to Vincent. Vincent is selected by Gattaca to participate in his dream, a mission to Titan, but when the project's director is murdered everyone involved comes under investigation. Meanwhile Vincent is falling in love with Irene (Uma Thurman), a "Valid" who is not allowed to go into space because she has a heart defect.
