Summary: The Avengers tells the story of an elite secret agent duo comprised of the sophisticated but deadly John Steed and his equally capable partner, Mrs. Emma Peel. Steed and Emma are called in to investigate a menacing criminal plot code-named Prospero, which is a ploy to blackmail all of Britain through weather control. Initially, Emma Peel is suspected of being involved in the scheme, but it is eventually revealed that she has a double who is working for a dastardly villain named Sir August de Wynter.
