Summary: After a series of ill-fated relationships, Jane (Ashley Judd) thinks she's moving in with Mr. Right. But, before she knows it, she realizes she's been dumped once again. She reluctantly takes a room at the apartment of her womanizing colleague, and comes up with a theory for interpreting male-female relations by observing wild animal behavior. Her ideas win her a magazine column, which strikes a chord with women everywhere, although now Jane's starting to question her conclusions

Synopsis: This bittersweet romantic comedy was adapted from the novel Animal Husbandry by Laura Zigman. After a series of ill-fated relationships, Jane (Ashley Judd) thinks she's moving in with Mr. Right, Ray (Greg Kinnear) -- he's not afraid of commitment. But all of a sudden Ray starts to pull away, until Jane realizes that once again she's been dumped. Jane's womanizing coworker, Eddie, just happens to be looking for a roommate, and Jane reluctantly moves in. Desperate to understand what happened, Jane comes up with a theory of interpreting male-female relations by observing the behaviors of wild animals. She is given an editorial column devoted to her thoughts on the matter. But no one could have predicted the chord she'd strike among women with her theory, and the column's wild success makes Jane start to question her conclusions--and opens her eyes to what might be right in front of her.
