Synopsis: Earth has been overrun by a mysterious race of aliens who can become invisible and consume the souls of their human victims. The survivors of the onslaught are now relegated to cities that are protected by giant energy shields. The beautiful Dr. Aki Ross is championing an effort to make a dangerous trip round the planet, outside of the protective shields, collecting spirits that could neutralize the aliens. General Hein is skeptical of the good doctor's claims since they go against his own belief that the road to victory is by blasting the main alien nest with a massive cannon. Dr. Aki believes this will destroy the aliens, but that it will destroy the Earth's spirit once and for all.
