Synopsis: Times were once exciting for the CIA, when officer Nathan Muir (Robert Redford) and his young trainee (Brad Pitt) did everything together, side by side, living the high life and traveling the world over. It was the nature of their work - highly intense, dangerous - that partners would team up and become fast friends, even unusually affectionate friends. But that was then. In 1991, Muir is about to retire and relax when he is told that Bishop has caved in to all the pressure and has become a rogue agent. Hes now jailed abroad on charges of espionage and is on death row, to die in 24 hours. Even though Muir vividly recalls the years of bad blood that has come between them, hes overwhelmed by a surge of emotion for this man who was once his closest friend. He must go and try to save him, no matter what the cost.
