A priest from the Vatican is called to Brazil to further explore claims that there are statues bleeding from the eyes in one small town. Once back from Brazil, the priest meets this young woman and tries to take care of her as she becomes increasingly wrapped up in a universe no one else has access to. The priest pays close attention to her hard-to-decipher ranting and raving, until he is finally able to unravel some if its meaning. Suddenly he is forced to question the only faith he knows, and that has been a solid establishment for nearly 2000 years.
