Biography
Kevin Bacon
Kevin Bacon Now one of the steadiest actors in all of Hollywood, things were not always so for Kevin Bacon. He grew up in a large family in Philadelphia. He received his acting training in New York when he became one of the youngest to ever enroll in the Circle Square Theater School. Kevin's break on the big screen and on to Broadway occurred almost simultaneously when he appeared as Chip Diller in the comedy classic Animal House and in Slab Boys opposite fellow unknowns Sean Penn and Val Kilmer. Kevin continued with steady work despite not much notoriety for him or the projects he was involved in. That was to change with the release of the wildly popular and trendy Footloose. Bacon's rebellious Ren danced his way into teenage girls hearts all over the U.S., unfortunately the film probably had an the opposite effect on critics and film execs. As with all trends, the Footloose craze subsided and Bacon was left, as alienated from his fans as their cans of hair spray and their fluorescent bracelets.
