Biography
Jackie Chan
Jackie Chan Born April 7, 1954, in Hong Kong. When Jackie Chan's parents moved to Australia, the seven-year-old was left behind at boarding school. For the next 10 years, Chan studied martial arts, drama, acrobatics, and singing, and was subjected to stringent discipline, including corporal punishment for poor performance. He appeared in his first film, the Cantonese feature Big and Little Wong Tin Bar (1962), aged just eight, and went on to appear in a number of musicals. Upon his 1971 graduation, Chan found work as an acrobat and a movie stuntman, most notably in Fist of Fury (1972), starring superstar Bruce Lee, in which he reportedly completed the highest fall in Chinese film history. After Lee's unexpected death in 1973, Chan was singled out as the next likely king of Hong Kong cinema. He starred in a string of unsuccessful kung fu movies before deciding to create his own image, blending martial arts with an impressive nerve and screwball physical comedy reminiscent
