Biography
George Clooney
George Clooney 'It's not about an opening weekend. It's about a career, building a set of films you're proud of. Period.'

Born May 6, 1961, in Lexington, Kentucky, and raised in Augusta, Kentucky, the son of television talk show host Nick Clooney and Nina Clooney, a former beauty contestant. Clooney attended Northern Kentucky University after unsuccessfully attempting to join the Cincinnati Reds baseball team, aged 16. His cousin helped him land a small part in the feature film And They're Off (1982), after which he moved to Los Angeles to pursue acting, studying at the Beverly Hills Playhouse.

After a few low-profile TV appearances, including Roseanne and the film Attack of the Killer Tomatoes (1988), Clooney finally gained notice as the handsome Dr. Doug Ross in the TV hospital drama, ER (1994). Having secured global heartthrob status, he again turned to film, making One Fine Day with Michelle Pfeiffer in 1996, and turning in a critic
