Renee Zellweger A blonde, bee-stung-lipped female lead who often projects a wholesome, girl-next-door quality, Renee Zellweger has gone from playing roles in Generation-X indies and low-budget fare to a major Hollywood player.

Born to a Norwegian nurse mother and Swiss engineering father, Renee Zellweger was born and raised in Katy, Texas, a small town outside of Houston. She excelled in school, eventually taking her studies to the University of Texas. She enrolled in drama class and began to participate in school productions.

She made her first professional appearance before the cameras as one of the victims in the ABC miniseries Murder in the Heartland (1993), and proved she could catch a director's eye by landing numerous parts. Unfortunately, bit parts in Reality Bites, Empire Records and Richard Linklater's Dazed and Confused didn't amount to much, although her role in Love and a .45 prompted Zellweger to move to Hollywood.
