Biography
John Travolta
John Travolta The simple label of actor doesn't really fit when applied to John Travolta. A single finger pointing to the sky and WHAM! he's the poster boy, an icon for an entire decade. Even more impressive than the heights of stardom that he ascended to, are the depths to which he sunk and subsequently returned to stardom from. Cultural icon, comeback specialist, has been, and megastar are all hats that Travolta has worn through out his career as he continues to delight and disappoint magnificently.

His style and life began in New Jersey in 1954. The "whoops" baby of his family, he was considered more a miracle than a mistake by his tire salesman father and his drama teaching mother. The boy's love of acting was soon evident in his frequent performances on the stage his father had built in the family basement, and his dedication could be seen through his studies of acting and dance at workshops and schools. By the age of 16 he had dropped out of high school to pursue acting as a career.
