Ralph Fiennes
Ralph Fiennes With his electrifying gaze, elegant comportment, and magnetic presence, Ralph Fiennes is perhaps best known for his string of unforgettable performances in war dramas filmed in the 1990s. He first impressed international audiences in 1993 in the unglamorous role of Nazi sadist Amon Goeth in Schindler's List. Since then, Fiennes has delivered performances marked by dignified passion and relentless intensity.

The oldest of six children, Fiennes was born in Suffolk on December 22, 1962. His father was a photographer and his mother a novelist. The Fiennes' were encouraged in their creative pursuits and, unsurprisingly, four of the six siblings entered the entertainment business.

Originally wanting to be a painter, Fiennes transferred from art college to London's Royal Academy of Dramatic Art to study acting. Following graduation, he joined the Royal National Theatre in 1987, and the Royal Shakespeare Company a year later, performing a variety of the classics.
