Biography
Eugene Levy
Eugene Levy Eugene Levy is a comedian through and through, coming into his own over the years so that now he's almost considered a guru, not only acting and doing stand-up, but producing and directing for TV as well. As with many comedians, and certainly Canadian ones, he started his career at "Second City TV", where he achieved notoriety for his impersonations and created many zany characters, including a clumsy newscaster and a hunchbacked assistant to a John Candy character. This stint led to many TV specials and spots with his "SCTV" costars.

While in university, he met Martin Short and director Ivan Reitman, who cast him in his first film, Cannibal Girls (1973), a horror-comedy that didn't exactly bowl people over. After two years doing Second City, he moved to California with John Candy to start a new comedy troupe, which never really got off the ground. He continued to work with Second City, and also executive produced/wrote/starred in The Last Polka (1985), a show
