Biography
Steve Martin
Steve Martin Steve Martin stands today as one of the funniest actor/comics in the history of cinema. A veteran actor on TV, Martin was one of the few lucky comics in the mid-eighties to cash-in on the demand for a specific brand of comedy on the big screen. Long before the world got tired of Saturday Night Live, Martin transferred his enormous talent for physical humor into several leading man characters, and has been wowing audiences ever since, even managing the odd serious dramatic role.

Born August 14, 1945, in Waco, Texas, the son of a real estate executive. When he was 5, Martin and his family moved to California. As a teenager, he sold guidebooks and performed magic tricks at Disneyland. He enrolled in the theater program at the University of California but left college to be a comedy writer for the Smothers Brothers Comedy Hour (1967-68), winning an Emmy Award in 1969.

Martin performed stand-up comedy in local clubs, wrote for the Sonny and Cher Show
