Sam Raimi The definition "all over the place" is a fitting description for director Sam Raimi's body of work as well as his unique style of filmmaking. Raimi participates on multiple levels of the process of constructing a picture through is aforementioned directing as well as serving as an actor and producer on a number of productions.

The fourth child of five, Sam was raised in Franklin, MI where he and his father Leonard would team to make rather elaborate home movies. It wasn't long before the wannabe filmmaker was setting up his own productions around the house and neighborhood, several of which mimicked his beloved Three Stooges. By the age of 15 he was taking film classes with Bruce Campbell who would later star in a number of his films. Raimi attended Michigan State University and appeased any doubters of his film career with a degree in English.
