James Cameron James Cameron is the undisputed master of action with heart, a genre that is easy not to take seriously (see Michael Bay and Disney's Pearl Harbor), yet the detail and the ingenuity that goes into each and everyone of his films has made him one of the most in demand, as well as demanding directors in all of Hollywood.

Born in Kapuskasing, Ont., Canada to an electrician, his parents' strict and demanding ways helped shape the youngster as he grew up in the Great White North. Two key events were instrumental in determining the direction his life would take, the first was his family uprooting and moving to Orange County, California and the second was his viewing of Stanley Kubrick's masterpiece, 2001: A Space Odyssey. Afterwards, he began messing around with film and his father's Super-8 camera.
