Oliver Parker
Oliver Parker Director and Screenwriter Oliver Parker has worked extensively as an actor, and theatre and film director. His three movies to date are all adaptations of classic plays by Shakespeare and Oscar Wilde - the latest The Importance of Being Earnest stars Rupert Everett, Reese Witherspoon and Judi Dench. Of his passion for classic theatre, he says: "I've acted in Wilde and Shakespeare myself, and so I don't feel like an outsider coming to the material. I feel like an insider who has a passion to deliver the essence of these pieces, which tend to be much more vibrant than they seem."

His most recent film was the highly acclaimed hit An Ideal Husband, which he adapted and directed. Starring Cate Blanchett, Minnie Driver, Rupert Everett, Julianne Moore and Jeremy Northam, the film was nominated for two Golden Globes and three BAFTAs.
